The magazine is now accepting submissions. These should ideally be made in the form of an abstract detailing the subject, argument and authors of the proposed article. This abstract should be no more than 250 words in length and can be emailed to pauld@rtcgroup.com.
EDA Tech Forum was launched at the 41st Design Automation Conference as a quarterly technical supplement covering critical design issues. It is marking its first anniversary by expanding that technical content and once more extending its invitation to all companies directly involved in the design flow (from chip concept to PCB) to submit abstracts for consideration in its White Paper section.
Contribution Guidelines
In the last year, contributors have ranged from the EDA's industry's big three, to start-ups tackling specialized and innovate technologies. Any relevant company can propose an article for publication. But, as we often get asked, what are the guidelines.
We are happy to hear from EDA companies, but would also welcome more case studies and strategic views from users, foundries, fab equipment suppliers and other semiconductor industry suppliers.
In simple terms, the magazine segments the design flow into five stages, with at least one white paper on each in every issue. These stages are:
- ESL/System C
- Verified RTL to Gates
- Digital/analog implementation
- Design to silicon
- Tested component to system
The articles we publish in the White Paper section are of either 1,800 words length with 2-3 illustrations (3 pages) or 2,400 words with 4-5 illustrations (4 pages). Lengths are specified when an abstract is accepted.
In addition, there are dedicated sections for leading silicon market associations and analyst groups to contribute their views on the latest trends. Length for these articles is 1,400 words with illustrations.
There is no charge to appear in the magazine and contributors have the right to approve any edits that the magazine makes to material appearing under their names.
The magazine currently appears four times a year, essentially once a quarter, with two editions coinciding with the EDA industry's major exhibitions in the US (DAC) and Europe (DATE).
We are happy to be one of the few magazines in electronics that is actually expanding its editorial content. For that, we thank our readers for the clear message that we are getting important technical information to today's work-stressed engineers that, hopefully, makes their lives a lot easier.
